About

For the love of chocolate… My name is Kelley, and I’m a Level 2 Certified Chocolate Taster through the International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting. This blog is based on my simple and forever love of bean to bar chocolate. This love took me to my very first chocolate festival–the Northwest Chocolate Festival– in October 2025. It’s the biggest chocolate festival in the USA, and was so much fun! I met the actual chocolate makers of some of my favorite chocolate brands, and met the makers of some of my new favorites! (Some people love rockstars, I love chocolate makers.) In this blog, I’ll review each of the chocolate bars I brought back from the festival. Hopefully, this blog helps people who are new to bean to bar chocolate choose bars they’ll love to eat and share.

(Note: pictured above are all of the products I brought back from the NWCF. I did not purchase from some of the makers I frequent online–suitcase space was at a premium for the trip home.)

Mestico was founded in 2017 by RogĂ©rio Kamei and his wife, Claudia, …

Special edition: This is not a chocolate that was at the NWCF in Oct 2025. A friend recently went to Egypt. And as true friends do, she brought me chocolate. Let me introduce you to Masison Choc. Maison Choc was founded by Clara Dayoub. She was a business major in college but had chocolate dreams. …
